Good news for Discovery Bank customers who watch DStv
Discovery Bank has announced DStv as a new rewards partner, enabling clients to get up to 25% back in Discovery Miles on their packages with the pay-TV operator.
While first revealed in November 2025, the partnership is now official, with clients earning miles on their DStv packages from the beginning of the second quarter of 2026.
This is part and parcel of the steady expansion of Discovery Bank’s rewards partners as it looks to maintain its strong growth trajectory.
The bank revealed in Discovery’s interim results that it has re-accelerated its customer growth to 1,500 new clients a day, off a base of 1.5 million active customers.
Discovery Bank aims to surpass two million active customers by 2029 as it looks to capitalise on substantial operating leverage in the business.
The bank’s operating leverage comes from many of the costs associated with building its offering being fixed in the form of historic investment in technology and capability.
As the client base grows, the cost to serve an individual client is actually declining, with the bank’s expenses per client falling from R336 in 2022 to R144 at the end of 2025.
Discovery Bank’s consistent rollout of new products, features, and rewards partners is a vital part of its client-acquisition machine.
On 14 May, the bank announced DStv as a new rewards partner, enabling clients to earn Discovery Miles on their DStv packages.
Thai applies to clients using any DStv package, from decoders to DStv Stream, when the package is paid for through a debit or credit card.
As a special offer, the reward will double to up to 50% back between 11 May and 30 June 2026.
“Partnering with Discovery to give our customers such great value is an obvious choice,” MultiChoice CEO Willington Ngwepe said.
“DStv customers who bank with Discovery will now earn up to 50% of the cost of their subscription back in Discovery Miles to spend on whatever they want while they tune in for FIFA World Cup 2026.”
