Major private school network going strong
Private education provider ADvTECH expects a significant boost in earnings for its 2024 financial year as enrolments are on an upward trajectory.
ADvTECH is a JSE-listed company that operates in the education and recruitment industries in South Africa and the rest of Africa.
The company’s roots date back to 1909 when the first establishment that ADvTECH would absorb was launched.
Brian Buckham founded Advanced Systems Incorporated in 1978, which would later be called ADvTECH.
ADvTECH was listed on the JSE in 1987. In the following decade, it launched Varsity College and Crawford Schools and bought Rosebank College.
Today, ADvTECH is South Africa’s leading private education provider and a continental leader in education, training, skills development, and placement.
Its businesses include 24 brands in total and 17 education brands, encompassing over 153 education, training and recruitment sites across Africa.
It operates well-known schooling brands, including Crawford International, Trinity House and Abbotts College.
On Thursday, 13 March 2025, ADvTECH revealed its expectations of the financial results for the year ended 31 December 2024.
The company said its basic earnings per share, normalised basic earnings per share and headline earnings per share are expected to be between 13% and 18% higher than in 2023.
“We are pleased with enrolments for 2025 for both the schools and tertiary divisions that are tracking in line with targets and continuing their trend of good growth,” the company said.
ADvTECH is set to release its results for the year ended 31 December 2024 on or about Monday, 24 March 2025.
