Telkom launches online share trading through EasyEquities

Telkom Financial Services, in partnership with EasyEquities, is bringing investment services to TelkomPay users.

Telkom announced that TelkomPay users can now buy and sell shares on the app by registering for the EasyEquities service.

“To access the service, users sign up through a seamless registration process, place funds into the account and start trading,” Telkom said.

Users of the service can transfer money from their TelkomPay digital wallet to EasyEquities on the app.

TelkomPay digital wallet enables consumers to make and receive payments through WhatsApp, USSD or the App. Through the wallet, users can make payments to bank accounts.

Users incur no fees for registering for the EasyEquities service and are only charged for each transaction when buying and selling shares on the platform.

“Even if an individual already has an EasyEquities account, connecting it to TelkomPay will make it easier,” Telkom said.

Telkom Financial Services managing executive Sibusiso Ngwenya said partnering with EasyEquities made sense as they are market leaders in cost-effective access to the stock market.
