From zero to 1.4 million in two years

Daily Investor attracted record readership numbers in May 2024, with 1.4 million unique visitors and 4.1 million page views. It achieved this growth in less than two years after launch.

Daily Investor was launched on 1 August 2022, offering South Africans the latest business news, investing insights, analysis, and financial data to make informed decisions.

The publication focuses on South African business developments, JSE-listed companies, and macroeconomic events that can influence the markets and impact investments.

It has built a strong following of South African investors, high-net-worth individuals, and financial decision-makers.

It became the fastest-growing business and finance publication in South Africa and achieved a record readership last month.

Its business show, Smart Money with Alishia Seckam, was also an instant hit, with 1 million views on YouTube, Facebook, and the show’s official website.

The show is hosted by one of South Africa’s best broadcast and financial journalists, Alishia Seckam, and features the country’s top business leaders.

Guests included Discovery CEO Adrian Gore, Bank Zero chairman Michael Jordaan, Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub, and A2X founder Kevin Brady.

Seckam has also interviewed AlexForbes CEO Dawie de Villiers, Nedbank CEO Mike Brown, M&G Investments CEO Chris Sickle, and Karooooo CEO Zak Calisto.

The show also featured FNB CEO Jacques Celliers, Ninety One’s Sangeeth Sewnath, and Rand Swiss founder Gary Booysen.

Daily Investor has signed commercial partnerships with South Africa’s top finance, investment, and banking companies.

Its commercial partnerships include Discovery, Ninety One, M&G Investments, Standard Bank, JSE, Old Mutual, Coronation, 10X Investments, OUTvest, and Brenthurst.

PPS Investments also partnered with Daily Investor for Smart Money Season 4, focussing on investing and wealth management.

Support from these companies helped the publication strengthen its operations to offer a wider range of services.

Broad Media CCO Kevin Lancaster said Daily Investor’s success showed that South Africa’s finance, business, and investment space remains vibrant.

“Our commercial partners see a strong performance in their marketing campaigns, confirming great potential in the local market,” he said.
