MultiChoice’s Irdeto in big streaming advertising partnership
Irdeto and Anypoint Media, based in South Korea, have strengthened their strategic partnership to empower over-the-top (OTT) and ad-supported TV (FAST) service providers globally.
Irdeto, a wholly owned subsidiary of MultiChoice, is a global leader in digital platform cybersecurity, serving customers worldwide.
It was founded in 1969 by the Dutch media engineer Pieter den Toonder. In the nineties, the company established itself as a big player in the media security market.
The company established itself as a leader in helping pay-TV operators secure their broadcast and monetise their services.
MultiChoice, through MIH Group, acquired a 49% stake in Irdeto in 1997. It later bought the rest of the company.
Today, Irdeto is the world leader in digital platform cybersecurity, providing solutions for video entertainment, video games, and connected industries.
Irdeto recently strengthened its partnership to pre-integrate Anypoint Media’s advertising solution, Flower, with Irdeto Experience, a leading streaming aggregation platform.
Anypoint Media describes Flower as a one-stop, seamless ad insertion and precision targeting solution that empowers OTT and FAST providers to deliver targeted advertising experiences.
“With this integration, OTT and FAST providers using Irdeto Experience can enable monetisation across their services without the typical integration complexities and delays,” said Irdeto.
Service providers benefit from immediate access to Flower’s client-side playlist manipulation technology, which provides advanced monetisation opportunities, including:
- Shoppable ads
- Cross-screen/device interactive ads
- Skippable ads on linear ad insertions
- Pre/mid/post-roll video on-demand ads
- Support for banner advertising across all user touchpoints
Anypoint Media further enhances monetisation by providing a campaign manager to handle direct sales and direct insertion orders.
The campaign manager also provides comprehensive programmatic integration, directly connecting providers with global supply- and demand-side platforms.
“This ensures that service providers maximise ad revenue potential across diverse and dynamic global markets,” said Irdeto.
Anypoint Media CEO, Won Baek, says the partnership between his company and Irdeto reflects the firms’ commitment to simplifying and enhancing the deployment of OTT platforms.
Irdeto regional vice president for the Asia-Pacific, Dario Choi, said the integrated solution ensures seamless deployment and superior advertising capabilities from day one.
“This strengthened partnership underscores the companies’ commitment to accelerating growth and profitability for content providers across multiple markets,” said Irdeto.
