8 most popular JSE shares among South Africa’s top stock pickers

The most popular JSE stocks among South Africa’s top analysts and fund managers in 2022 are Standard Bank, Mr Price, Firstrand, MTN, Prosus, Remgro, Shoprite, and Sibanye Stillwater.

To find the most popular shares, Daily Investor recorded the picks from guests on platforms like the JSE’s SA Stock Picks show and Business Day TV’s Stock Watch.

For this analysis, Daily Investor considered stock picks between 1 January 2022 and 31 July 2022 from all analysts.

Regular guests on these shows include FNB Wealth and Investments’ Wayne McCurrie, Sasfin Wealth’s David Shapiro, and Sanlam Private Wealth’s Nick Kunze.

Other prominent stock pickers are Mia Kruger from Kruger International, Steven Schultz from Momentum, and Graeme Körner from Körner Perspective.

Standard Bank was the most popular share, with nine analysts and fund managers selecting it as their weekly stock pick.

Mr Price was second with six stock pickers selecting it, followed by Firstrand, MTN, Prosus, Remgro, Shoprite, and Sibanye Stillwater on five.
