Top restaurant chain opens a new store next to South Africa’s biggest mall
Popular South African restaurant brand, Tashas, has officially opened its newest location next to Fourways Mall.
“After months of planning and watching every detail come together, Tashas Fourways is officially open,” the group said.
“Our tables are set, our team is ready, and we look forward to welcoming you into our newest space.”
This opening forms part of the R100 million upmarket development, The View, which is positioned on a prime corner at the intersection of Cedar Road and Witkoppen Road in Johannesburg.
The development forms part of the broader repositioning of Fourways Mall, in line with the strategy of JSE-listed REIT Accelerate Property Fund, which co-owns the asset.
The View is designed to meet Fourways’ long-standing demand for high-end dining and lifestyle offerings.
Two of the most anticipated tenants are The Pantry and Tashas, which are both entering the Fourways area for the first time.
Tashas Group CEO and Founder, Natasha Sideris, previously explained that they have long had their eye on the region.
“Now that we have found the right partner and location, we’re very excited to open our doors and become part of this vibrant community,” she said.
“We can’t wait to bring our style of inspired hospitality to the area – beautiful food, a thoughtfully designed space, and warm, engaging service.”
“Our hope is always the same: that we become part of the fabric of the neighbourhood in the way so many of our locations throughout South Africa have become over the years.”
Alongside the classic Tashas menu, which is served in every store, the Fourways location offers its own signature menu.
It features dishes such as saganaki prawn orzo, lamb cutlets, and a tomahawk steak to share for R798.
The View attracts major tenants

The View has been planned to make the most of its elevated position, offering a rare perspective over Johannesburg and sweeping views across the Fourways landscape.
Convenience has been central to the development’s planning, with multiple access points from Cedar Road, Witkoppen Road and Fourways Boulevard designed to make arrival as easy as possible.
From inside the mall, a direct pedestrian route past the iStore will also provide convenient access to The View.
Security booms will be introduced to support a safe shopping environment, while shoppers will receive one hour of free parking and free parking after 5 pm. Parking will also be available on every retail level.
Upgraded parking facilities and improved landscaping, supported by a tree-planting initiative with Johannesburg City Parks, will contribute to a greener and more welcoming precinct.
The View’s tenant mix has been selected with a focus on lifestyle, leisure, and quality, with a strong emphasis on destination dining, beauty, and wellness.
On the ground floor, The Pantry will open on 1 October 2026, offering a full grocery experience with an in-store butchery, gourmet products, speciality wines, hot meals, a bespoke bakery and ice cream parlour.
“The Pantry’s new store reflects confidence in the destination’s direction,” Marble Hospitality Group co-founder Gary Kyriacou previously said.
“Fourways represents energy, growth and community, and Pantry is built for exactly that. The quality of the space and the ease of access made this the right move for the brand, and we are proud to be part of what The View is becoming.”
Other tenants include a Food Lover’s Market, Clay Cafe, Fournos Bakery, Petworld, Mangwanani Spa, Nonna’s Italian Grill, and Popsicle Nail Bar.
