Luxury development launching in this small South African town

JBDevProp has unveiled Kairos, an exclusive 15-unit luxury eco-development in Botha’s Hill, KwaZulu-Natal, offering residents a modern, nature-focused lifestyle near the emerging Westown Square smart city precinct.

Property developer JBDevProp recently announced the official launch of Kairos in Botha’s Hill, a small town outside Hillcrest in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

According to the group, this project signals the beginning of a new generation of boutique developments designed to restore KZN’s unique urban identity, while embracing sustainable growth for the future.

Kairos is a development of 15 condos designed to offer residents a curated lifestyle rooted in health, wellness, and harmony with nature.

Westown Square

Residents will also be able to benefit from Kairos’ proximity to Westown Square, a high-street shopping and entertainment destination launched in early 2025, which forms part of a mixed-use smart city development.

It is set to generate around R15 billion in investment over the next 10 to 15 years – R1.3 billion of which has already been triggered through the Westown Square.

The project is expected to attract approximately R15 billion in investment, both in infrastructure and top structures, over the next 10 to 15 years and create more than 23,000 jobs.

This mixed-use property and lifestyle development is positioned between Durban and Pietermaritzburg (PMB) on the main arterial N3 highway. It is 30 km from Durban Port, 50 km from PMB, and 56 km from King Shaka International Airport.

While Westown is still an active construction site, the first phase of a new smart city development, Westown Square and The Barn, officially opened on 27 March 2025.

The Westown Urban Core spans over 100 ha and has secured and approved development rights of approximately 520,000 m² of bulk floor area.
