In this Smart Money with Alishia Seckam interview, Head of Brenthurst Claremont Renee Eagar provides tips and insight into how women should manage their finances in South Africa.

Eagar is a certified financial planner and a member of the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa.

She has been in the financial services industry since 1998 and has worked for institutions such as TMA and Investec Asset Management before joining Brenthurst Wealth Management.

Eagar was recently named the Individual Relationship Manager of the Year at the Krutham Top Private Banks and Wealth Managers Awards.

This was the second year she was placed among the top three relationship managers in these awards.

Eagar’s incredible career is backed by strong qualifications, having obtained her Higher Certificate in Financial Markets in 2004 and her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2006.

She is, therefore, fully qualified to give advice on all investment matters.

The interview

In this Smart Money interview, Eagar discusses the challenges women must address when managing their finances. She reveals the shifts she has noted over the past two decades in women’s attitudes to money.

Eagar then talks about how women’s money priorities differ from men’s, including the additional challenges women face when managing their finances.

She also provides her top tips for women who want to improve the way they manage their finances.

Eagar concludes the interview by discussing whether women prefer having their money managed by other women.
