He has worked at many of South Africa’s top financial institutions, including Nedbank, Deutsche Bank, Investec Wealth & Investment, and Merrill Lynch.

Armitage gained vital experience in various positions at each of these institutions, including analyst, research head, and CIO.

Armitage’s investment expertise saw him rated South Africa’s top analyst in 1999 by Finance Week. Throughout his career, he was also recognised as the top investment analyst a record 21 times by the Financial Mail.

In 2012, he founded Anchor Group and built it into a R230 billion global investment management and wealth business.
