EasyRetire RISE lists top-performing retirement ETFs on the JSE

EasyRetire RISE, the fintech-enabled retirement platform within Purple Group, has reached a major milestone with the listing of three active multi-asset ETFs (AMETFs) on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).

The new listings bring EasyRetire RISE’s CPI+3, CPI+5 and CPI+7 portfolios to the public market, opening access to retirement-focused investment strategies that have delivered top-quartile performance over five years and making them available to a far broader group of South African investors.

The portfolios are designed around different risk profiles, ranging from conservative to growth-oriented investors, and blend active and passive investment approaches across domestic and international equities, fixed income, money markets, cash and private market opportunities.

As at 28 February 2026, the RISE CPI+3 and CPI+5 portfolios ranked number one in their respective peer categories over five years, while the RISE CPI+7 portfolio ranked number two.

For EasyRetire RISE, the listings represent more than the introduction of three investment products. They mark an important step in the company’s broader ambition to build a more accessible and technology-driven retirement ecosystem.

“The fact that we can now make these top-performing portfolios available to every South African with access to the JSE is exactly what EasyRetire RISE was built to do,” says Nicola Comninos, CEO of EasyRetire RISE. “Too often, high-quality retirement solutions have felt out of reach for ordinary investors. We want to change that. We are using technology and smart product design to make retirement investing simpler, more transparent and more accessible.”

The launch also strengthens the connection between EasyRetire RISE and the wider Easy ecosystem. Through EasyEquities and its community of more than two million registered users, the business plans to introduce the new portfolios to investors through existing channels, including the Thrive engagement programme.

Room for growth

EasyRetire RISE currently manages approximately R18 billion in assets under management across 27 client mandates and sees significant room for growth over the next few years. The company is targeting further expansion across products, distribution channels and partnerships as it looks to deepen its presence in South Africa’s retirement landscape.

Alongside product growth, EasyRetire RISE is investing heavily in technology and member experience. A major near-term initiative includes integrating retirement balances directly into the EasyEquities application, giving members a real-time view of their retirement savings alongside the rest of their investment portfolios.

The business is also focused on enhancing retirement administration capabilities and building an open partner ecosystem that extends beyond traditional retirement products into broader financial wellness and employee benefit solutions.

Purple Group CEO Charles Savage says the listing reflects the group’s long-term approach to opening up financial services and helping more South Africans participate in wealth creation.

“EasyRetire RISE is becoming one of the most exciting growth businesses in our ecosystem,” he says. “These listings bring together strong investment performance, fintech-driven access and a genuine focus on improving retirement outcomes. We are backing the platform, the technology and the team because we believe retirement investing should be easier, smarter and available to everyone.”

He adds that retirement savings remains one of the country’s biggest long-term challenges and opportunities.

“The future of investing is about creating products and experiences that remove friction and help people make better financial decisions. Retirement should not feel complicated or inaccessible. We believe technology can change that.”

As EasyRetire RISE enters its next phase of growth, the business sees the AMETF listings as an important building block in creating a modern retirement platform designed for scale and built around the needs of South African investors.
